Social Services in Bergs Municipality

Starting January 1, 2026, Social Services in Bergs Municipality will work in a team-based manner, combining authority and open care. We are now looking for a new colleague for the Children & Youth team who will have the opportunity to work alongside colleagues from open care in the same team. Does this sound interesting? Job Responsibilities

As a social worker for children and youth, you will be part of a group with 7 other social workers and 7 colleagues from open care. In this role, you will be an important piece of the puzzle in an exciting and ambitious organization that is currently characterized by strong forward momentum. Collaboration and trust are key words in our work.

The job responsibilities mainly consist of exercising authority where you investigate and assess the need for protection or support and make decisions about interventions in the area of children and youth. You will also be responsible for the implementation and follow-up of certain interventions. Our goal is to work with early interventions for our citizens. The work is carried out in accordance with applicable legislation, particularly the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Act on Special Provisions concerning the Care of Young People (LVU).

Documentation and collaboration with other activities, as well as being a presenter for the Care and Social Committee when needed, are also included. The position includes social readiness, which can be reached via 112 outside of office hours. Compensation according to agreement is included, and you will serve on standby based on a rotating schedule.

Qualifications

A degree in social work is required for this position. If you also have several years of experience in investigation and authority exercise within the social services area (focusing on children and youth), good knowledge of the relevant legislation (especially SoL and LVU), and experience from working with VIVA and/or BBIC, we consider this an asset.

We also see it as an asset if you have experience working with or knowledge of NPF diagnoses. You need to have a good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing. A driver's license for passenger cars (B license) is a requirement.

Bergs Municipality is a Sámi administrative municipality, and we consider it an asset if you have knowledge of the South Sámi language and culture.
